Osaka University's Inaugural North American Alumni Reunion

The second annual Alumni Reunion was held at Cornell Club, New York City on May 19, 2007.44 participants including graduates, president, vice-presidents and former exchange students had gathered together.



Although each participant has such a diverse backgrounds and professions, all the participants have an Osaka University heritage in common.



In order to celebrate the 2nd annual reunion, the President, Dr. Hideo Miyahara gave a speech “Osaka University after being an educational foundation” and Dr. Takahiro Shinyo, Ambassador, Deputy Permanent Representative of Japan presented “Today’s UN and Japan’s role” as a guest speaker.



With a very cozy and exciting atmosphere, the reunion went very relaxing and it last longer than expecting. The idea of North American Alumni Association is based on the need for a general meeting to bring together members to hammer out its functions and mission.



The association aims to work closely with Osaka University SF Centers to highlight the excellent work being done by its graduates across Canada and the U.S. 478 Osaka University graduates including former exchange students have registered for the association by October 12, 2007.



As a leader in cutting-edge such as biotechnology, robotics, nanotechnology and computers, they would continue strive in every field, and to grow globally.
