“JUNBA 2009”-Next Step to a Greener Earth-
JUNBA is a network among Japanese university offices in the Bay Area. JUNBA (Japanese University Network in the Bay Area) is proud to announce "JUNBA2009 - Next Step to a Greener Earth-". This comprises of three parts; Summit, Symposium and Technology Fair in the field of global environmental issues. The first part, "The JUNBA Summit" were to discuss the strategy of the role of universities and the action plan to provide timely solutions to sustainability problems by the participating representatives who are directly involved in this subject. On the next day, "The JUNBA Symposium" had series of lectures on environmental researches is presented by opinion-leaders from Japan and the U. S. They include a representative from Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) and experts of environmental research among US universities and industries. Following the JUMBA Symposium, "The JUNBA Technology Fair" was to have 30 participating universities open up their technologies. During the presentation, booths were set up outside the meeting room to facilitate a follow-up discussion for all visitors.
