2006 Osaka University Forum Frontier of Biomedical Research and Beyond... Date: December 4 and 5, 2006 Venue: Hyatt Regency La Jolla (San Diego) The 2006 Osaka University Forum was a striking success with over 200 participants congregating in Southern California to hear an interdisciplinary gathering of presenters from both Osaka University and other institutions around the world.
	The Forum is an annual symposium that brings together international science leaders to explore trends and specific areas of current research work. Sponsored by Osaka University, the forum has been hosted at various respected academic venues around the world. In past years it has been held in the US, Germany, Switzerland, France and Vietnam. The 6th Forum focused on biomedical research and medical advances pioneered through imaginative clinical approaches.
	Gaining in popularity, the event was hosted this year by UC San Diego and is co-sponsored by such prestigious organizations as the Scripps Research Institute, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), Burnham Institute, Assoc. for Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) and the Salk Institute. Keynote presenters included Shigekazu Nagata (Osaka University), Erkki Ruoslahti (Burnham Institute), Shizuo Akira (Osaka University), Inder Verma (Salk Insitute), and Tadamitsu Kishimoto (Osaka University).
